Q - Do you have to be looking for business to go to the networking events? (Seems like whenever I've gone I feel like the only one not looking for business but to get to know others.)
A - Absolutely not!… all of our members and guests are welcomed to all of our events. The primary focus of the Peninsula Women’s Network is to connect women of diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas, experiences and mutual support. The Network provides educational programs and social activities that enhance the business, professional and personal development of its members.

The History of PWN
In February 1979, four Peninsula women, Phyllis Albert, Karen Belding, Agnes Braganza and Audrey Tyree got together to discuss the possibility of forming an organization of career women. They had decided to ask about ten others to join them for lunch, but they were the only ones who came!
“Wouldn’t it be good,” they said, “if women could get together four or five times a year to discuss their careers and exchange ideas? Wouldn’t it be a nice way of meeting other career women?” They thought that maybe twenty or twenty-five women would be interested in getting together.

Networking Groups
There are presently four Leads Groups available to members. Each group meets to give and receive business referrals to its members and to offer support, advice and friendship. There can be only one industry/business represented within each group. You many only be a member of only ONE leads group. Each group welcomes guests to attend up to two meetings to help decide the value of the group to their business and personal goals. In order to continue to meet with a Leads Group a guest must make the commitment to membership in PWN.
